‘Peace Love ‘n Seasonal Fruit’ is a genius phrase coined by my friend and colleague Chris Kendall ( therawadvantage.com ). I wear it on my t-shirts, sweatshirts, and a bumper sticker on my car. I get many happy comments on it wherever I go, so I decided to share it here on Substack, where I can elaborate on why I see it as such a powerfully therapeutic tool for navigating today’s chaotic world.
Used as a mantra, this little phrase will change your life. Its power is deceptively simple, in the same way that healing is deceptively simple. Most people exhaust themselves chasing complicated fixes for their relationship with the world, with themselves, and with their health. It’s fun to play with re-ordering the words in the phrase - try for example: Seasonal Fruit, Love ‘n Peace. It may not have as nice of a rhythmic flow to the words, but if you begin the healing process by simply making a commitment to center your diet around consuming an abundance of fresh, ripe seasonal fruit all day long, frequent feelings of deep connection with Love and then Peace will soon follow.
Mother Nature really does know best, and she lovingly provides us with the most nutritious, deliciously sweet pure nectar in her beautiful, colorful abundance of sun-ripened fruit. When we truly receive this precious gift, and humbly realize the perfection of its resonance with divine Love — we are able to quickly shed obstructions (detoxify our body), and begin to realize the sweet harmonics of our true nature.
When fresh, ripe, seasonal fruit provides the majority of your calories every day, the transformation process is swift. There is a necessary cleansing period which may bring some discomfort, yet as you feel the energetic, electrical vibrational tone in your body and mind begin to shift into a higher quality gear, you will celebrate this necessary cleansing, and shedding of old skins. More and more frequent glimpses of pure happiness and peace, arising for no apparent reason no matter what is happening around you, become enticing and irresistible invitations, affirming the natural way forward.
Life stressors become less overwhelming when we trust our ability to care for ourselves, and know how to build up our strength and resiliency. Our bodies and minds become easily irritated by food and drink and other substances not in accordance with the needs of our human biological design. This irritation accumulates over time, and can severely weaken us. In the weakened state that the majority of people experience today (even without knowing it), is it any wonder we see so much chaos, conflict and misery ‘out there'? You know it’s true…so what will you do?

I mean this in the deepest, most serious and sincere way. We have ‘got to get back to the garden’ (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young).
A line from another song I heard recently says: “I bless and release what does not bring me peace.”
